Networking and Globalization are two of the chief megatrends of the 21st century. At least that's what Matthias Horx of the Frankfurt-based "future think tank" Zukunftsinstitut GmbH proclaims. And since companies like Hewlett-Packard, ABB and Volkswagenwerk AG consult with Matthias Horx, the man seems to have something important to say.
Most companies are still reluctant to accept it, but the centralized workplace of yesteryear has largely served its purpose. In the knowledge industry, at least. The centralized workplace was an invention of the industrial revolution. A large number of people had to be brought to capital-intensive factories on a daily basis. The results are well-known. We have had to live with a daily mass migration to and from work, which has put tremendous pressure on our environment and resources and which has robbed humankind of many hours of valuable quality lifetime.
Today, we live in the age of information. The old factory work can largely be handled by robots. This frees up intellectual potential for more valuable tasks. Networking means that we no longer need to restrict the search for our intellectual resources to our immediate neighbourhood but that we can look for the best brains for a given task irrespective of their physical location. Networking means that women no longer have to choose between kids and career. Flexible work hours and work locations now permit the parallel pursuit of a career and child rearing.
The Brasov Professional Group offers up a broad range of intellectual services from complex programming in the medical and technical fields, to bookkeeping services, computer-assisted drafting, building visualizations and film animation right up to marketing support and call centre activities. As a showcase company of the New Economy, BPG is not a centralized operation. The headquarters in Brasov, Romania, and the Liaison Office in Lüchow, Germany, are being supported by a broad circle of scientists and experts in different locations, all working together in a virtual office. We practice what we preach.
This permits us to synergistically bring together an extremely wide-ranging knowledge pool and present you with some of the best brainpower available for your work.
